In addition to being a replenishable resource the use of wood as a primary construction material helps alleviate carbon build-up in the atmosphere.
As forestry woods grow they consume carbon dioxide from the environment and expel oxygen. Carbon is stored in the woods structure, making up as much as 50% of the overall weight (click here for more detail)
